About The Role 

This is an excellent opportunity for a human resources professional who thrives on making a tangible difference in a supportive, mission-driven environment. 

In this role, you’ll support both team members and leaders across Evergreen Care, our long-term care community in White Rock, BC, providing excellent service and advice, helping create a workplace where people feel supported, respected, and empowered to do their best work. 

As a trusted advisor, you will coach and guide leaders through team member performance and labour relations issues, recruitment, workplace health and safety, and disability management, always handling sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. You will implement local people and culture programs that strengthen collaboration, wellbeing, and team engagement across the community. You’ll support leaders to drive meaningful change and support collaborative relationships, fostering a healthy and respectful culture and building team resilience and wellbeing. 

This position serves our long-term care community in White Rock, British Columbia, employing approximately 400 team members, working on site as part of a beautiful campus in a serene coastal setting with a welcoming, close-knit feel. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week). 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Build strong, trusting collaborative working relationships. 
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture rooted in Baptist Housing’s mission and values. 
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching on labour relations, performance management, disability management, and recruitment. Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, supporting them through complex and sensitive matters. 
  • Drive engagement initiatives and support leadership development efforts that strengthen team effectiveness and satisfaction. 
     

About You 

You’re a compassionate and people-centered human resources professional who genuinely enjoys supporting others. Key Requirements 

  • Minimum four years’ human resources experience in a union environment. Experience in healthcare or seniors living an asset. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required. CPHR designation is an asset. Equivalent education and experience will be considered. 
  • Proven ability to develop healthy, collaborative relationships and foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative culture. 
  • Confident navigating changing priorities amidst a dynamic and high volume work environment. Strong time and project management skills essential. 
  • Demonstrated organizational skill and attention to detail. 
  • Effective critical thinker and problem-solver with a solutions-focused mindset. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a warm, professional and approachable demeanor. 
  • Demonstrated experience in labour relations. Experience with master collective healthcare bargaining agreements (NBA, FBA) an asset. 

Compensation & Benefits 

We offer a starting annual salary in the range of $70,000 to $75,000, along with a comprehensive and people-first benefits package, including: 

  • Four weeks’ annual vacation

  • Up to 7% employer-matched group RRSP 
  • 18 sick days per year
