The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant III to join our team at Evergreen in White Rock.

In this casual role, you’ll help ensure our community remains safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for residents, visitors, and team members. From preventative maintenance to repairs and emergency response, your work will directly contribute to creating a welcoming environment where seniors can thrive.

What You'll do
Maintain Safe & Functional Spaces

• Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs for buildings, grounds, and equipment
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
• Complete repairs related to plumbing, furniture, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Support the upkeep of resident and common areas to maintain a safe, comfortable environment

Support Daily Operations

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces
• Participate in on-call schedules as needed for emergencies
• Assist with assigning and coordinating maintenance tasks when required
• Maintain maintenance records, logs, and expense documentation

Promote Safety & Compliance

• Identify and address potential hazards proactively
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies
• Contribute to a culture of workplace health and safety
• Demonstrate Baptist Housing’s values through respectful and professional interactions

What You Bring 

Education & Experience 

• Minimum two years of related experience in building or systems maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Knowledge of maintenance best practices and building systems
• Experience using tools and equipment related to building maintenance and repair
• Working knowledge of computers and software for communication and documentation
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform the duties of the role

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively
• Dependable, adaptable, and responsive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Commitment to teamwork, safety, and quality work
