The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant III to join our team in Kelowna.
In this casual role, you’ll help ensure our community remains safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for residents, visitors, and team members. From preventative maintenance to repairs and emergency response, your work will directly contribute to creating a welcoming environment where seniors can thrive.
What You'll do
Maintain Safe & Functional Spaces
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs for buildings, grounds, and equipment
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
- Complete repairs related to plumbing, furniture, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Support the upkeep of resident and common areas to maintain a safe, comfortable environment
Support Daily Operations
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces
- Participate in on-call schedules as needed for emergencies
- Assist with assigning and coordinating maintenance tasks when required
- Maintain maintenance records, logs, and expense documentation
Promote Safety & Compliance
- Identify and address potential hazards proactively
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies
- Contribute to a culture of workplace health and safety
- Demonstrate Baptist Housing’s values through respectful and professional interactions
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Minimum two years of related experience in building or systems maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Knowledge of maintenance best practices and building systems
- Experience using tools and equipment related to building maintenance and repair
- Working knowledge of computers and software for communication and documentation
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform the duties of the role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively
- Dependable, adaptable, and responsive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Commitment to teamwork, safety, and quality work
