We are seeking a General Manager for our long-term care community in White Rock, British Columbia, Evergreen Care, to provide overall leadership and operational oversight. In this role, you will lead clinical and non-clinical teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while fostering a culture grounded in our mission, vision, and values.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring excellence in resident care, team engagement, and operational performance.
About The Role
As the General Manager, you are a servant leader who brings both strategic and hands-on leadership. You will oversee all aspects of operations, including clinical services, team leadership, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
You will create an environment where residents are supported to live with dignity, autonomy, and purpose, while also fostering a workplace culture where team members feel valued, supported, and empowered.
This role is also a position of Christian ministry, requiring alignment with Baptist Housing’s values, Statement of Faith and a commitment to providing spiritual leadership within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support all team members within the community, fostering a positive, collaborative, and values-driven culture
- Model servant leadership and uphold Baptist Housing’s mission, vision, and values
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to support team development
- Partner with People & Culture on recruitment, retention, and team engagement
- Oversee the delivery of all long-term care clinical programs and services, ensuring care meets the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of residents
- Maintain compliance with professional, legal, and regulatory standards, supporting quality, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead day-to-day operations of the community, ensuring effective coordination across all departments, building strong relationships with external partners, and contributing to strategic initiatives.
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets in collaboration with senior leadership, monitor financial performance, and support risk management.
- Promote a strong culture of workplace health and safety
Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related health discipline preferred.
- Current professional registration in good standing (if applicable)
- Minimum five years’ healthcare leadership experience
- Minimum two years’ clinical experience in seniors care or gerontology
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills & Competencies
- Collaborative servant leader
- Effective communicator and relationship builder
- Strong understanding of long-term care and healthcare regulations
- Leadership experience in clinical program oversight, quality improvement, and accreditation
- Financial management experience, including budgeting and resource planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Point Click Care or other healthcare systems
